What the job involves
- Plan menus around guest preferences, allergies and the itinerary
- Provision the yacht and manage the galley budget
- Cook for guests and, on many yachts, the crew
- Keep the galley clean and compliant with food safety standards
What you need
- STCW Basic Safety Training and a valid ENG1 seafarer medical certificate, which almost every yacht requires before you start
- A food hygiene certificate
- A Ship's Cook Certificate, which is often required on larger yachts
- Professional kitchen experience
